With its crystal clear waters & idyllic dive locations, an amazing array of marine and birdlife, Heron Island is our natural place on the reef, which can be yours too.

 

We are currently seeking experienced and enthusiastic applicants for the role of Dive Instructor, based at Heron Island Resort.

 

As our Dive Instructor you will work with a team of Dive Instructors & Dive Masters who ensure our guests experience the very highest levels of service and safety while undertaking diving and snorkeling activities in and around the reef off Heron Island.

With excellent communication skills you will be a confident individual and an experienced public speaker used to supervising groups of people of mixed diving abilities, with the ability to engage and motivate your audience providing an interactive, yet safe diving experience. Your attention to detail will be the key in this role as well as strong organisational skills and the ability to take control and give directions to other staff and guests in the event of an emergency.

Essential requirements:

Current PADI Instructor Certificate (OWSI or above) minimum 12 months experience

Current Dive Medical Certificate (AS 2299)

First Aid & CPR Certificates (Nationally Recognised)

Unrestricted/Open Drivers License
Oxygen Provider Certificate
(Nationally Recognised)
Ability to work well under pressure
Team player

 

Highly Desirable

Regulators Technicians Certificate (desirable)

Coxswain’s qualification

Elements of Shipboard Safety (ESS) certificate

 

Please note:  applicants must have existing rights to work in Australia.
