The Captain will also have primary responsibility for the initial development and ongoing refinement of operating policies and procedures for the boat(s). He/She will develop and maintain Policy and Procedure manuals for the boat(s) to ensure that every effort is made to consistently deliver an excellent experience to Owners.
The position is to ensure the yachts are technically reliable and unscheduled out of service and/or repair periods are kept to an absolute minimum; thereby increasing the availability of the yachts to the Owners. In addition, the Captain will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Owners' dock as well as any ancillary water sports equipment, including but not limited to Jet-Skis, tenders, kayaks, etc.
The Captain will coordinate with the General Manager concerning all matters that pertain to day-to-day operations, technical and other maintenance, repairs, budget, and regulatory requirements as well as the planning and execution of any Owner trips or major service periods. This position will also propose/develop/execute itineraries for potential Owner trips, drawing on their own experience in conjunction with Owner desires. In addition, the Captain will coordinate and manage any interaction with Hinckley, both for ongoing maintenance/service as well as any warranty related items that may arise. The Captain will also supervise any temporary deck support staff and will closely coordinate with any service/hospitality staff that may be aboard during Owner use.
The Captain will also ensure that all hurricane or storm preparations, including but not limited to; reinforcing of moorings, securing any exposed gear or equipment, movement of the vessel to a protected location, and/or hauling of the boat(s) for land storage are all handled safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner, ensuring the boats are protected to the greatest extent possible. The Captain will also act as the primary point of contact for any third-party storage providers as well as the boat's underwriters.
Operate and navigate during Owner usage ensuring safe operations at all times, using all available resources to enhance and optimize the Owner experience.
Keep the Property Manager updated on the technical status of the vessels and ancillary equipment and report any projected matters of significance in a timely manner.
Ascertain that all operating procedures onboard the yachts comply with any regulatory requirements and industry "Best Operating Practices".
Motivate shipboard teams to perform at peak levels at all times. Foster a work environment that is conducive to teamwork and maximum productivity.
Manage and oversee any repair and maintenance activities of the yachts.
Ensure that repairs and required maintenance are carried out in a cost and time efficient manner.
Actively participate in the budgeting process for the yachts.
Monitor budget performance and propose cost containment procedures in case of cost overruns.
Liaise with regulatory agencies to schedule and execute any required inspections/surveys.
Develop and propose any procedures and/or equipment that could enhance the Owner experience while always ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, vessel safety and environmental policies.

Knowledge, experience, skill, and/or ability
10 years as Captain on high-end recreational yachts
Extensive experience in operational planning and execution of itineraries and vessel technical and exterior/interior cosmetic maintenance
Excellent understanding and experience with marine communications systems and protocols
Excellent understanding of propulsion plants and arrangements
Experience with other non-propulsion related technical and mechanical systems
Strong knowledge of marine coatings and paint applications
Strong local geographical knowledge

Required computer skills
MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Extensive familiarity with the Hinckley product line
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the marine industry.
