Instructors required for immeadiate start in Melbourne, Victoria

We are currently looking for local, passionate and reliable PADI Scuba Instructors to join our training division; Peninsula Dive School which is the only full service PADI Dive Centre on the Mornington Peninsula.

You will be a highly organised, mature and methodical team player capable of working autonomously while inspiring your colleagues, students and clients through your infectious love of diving and the underwater world.

All instructors report directly to the Director of Training and will be responsible for a variety of duties including:

  • conducting SCUBA training for a variety of PADI course types including discover scuba, scuba diver, open water diver, advanced open water, rescue
  • course record administration in accordance with PADI and company requirements,
  • writing, recording and filing of course session reports,
  • assisting with course scheduling (as required),
  • performing equipment sales workshops and assisting with sales of snorkeling and scuba products (predominantly to students),
  • inspection and testing of rental and course training equipment,
  • attending and participating in internal meetings, industry and PADI workshops / webinars and other professional development activities,
  • promotion and booking of travel, club activity and continuing education activities to students (and other customers as required)

This is a sub-contractor position with regular (predominantly weekend) work for the ideal candidate and ongoing work available throughout the year for the right applicant(s).

Required experience:

  • temperate water diving experience (ideally teaching / leading dives),
  • minimum three years active teaching experience,
  • diverse range of PADI course types from Open Water to dive-master (specialities favourable)
  • background in hospitality, retail and / or customer service preferred,
  • proven experience in dive-master and assistant roles,

Successful applicants must have:

  • active and renewed PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor qualification (or above),
  • current and valid First Aid and CPR qualifications (renewed within previous 12 months)
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail,
  • current occupational diving medical certificate (within last 12 months),
  • renewed professional indemnity and DAN insurance,
  • valid Australian drivers’ license (manual preferred)
  • Active and valid ABN,
  • suitable vehicle,
  • modern, regularly serviced and PADI standards compliant SCUBA equipment, accessories and teaching tools (more details available upon application)
